DCMS Holds Athletic Banquet

Both the boys’ and girls Varsity and Jr. Varsity basketball teams, along with the DCMS Cross Country team, the Dance Team and the DCMS Cheerleaders, were all proudly recognized at the school’s annual athletic banquet last Tuesday night, March 13th.
Highlights of the evening included recognition of the 20-0 Lady Panther Basketball team, recognition of the hard work of the coaches, and special awards to standout athletes.
At the TNT state tournaments held last month, two DCMS players, Briana Culpepper and Hannah Hays, were recognized for All-State honors. Two more players, Hayley Pearcy and Marquis Phelps, received Honorable Mention. They were presented with certificates for their accomplishments.
Outstanding Cheerleaders recognized were: Most Improved: Abby Hays; Captain’s Award: Anna Whitwell; Co-Captain’s Award: Morgan Schwab; Best Teammate: Ashley Williams; Most Outstanding Athlete: Kayley Haynes; Most Spirited: Abigail Lawrence; and Mascot Awards, Ashley and Amanda Smith.

Everyone enjoyed a great bbq chicken and pork meal, complete with all of the trimmings.
