Ragland, Fairweather Indicted on Arson Charges

A Decaturville man was indicted by the Grand Jury last week on two counts of arson. Roger Ray Ragland also faces an additional five counts of theft of property.
In related indictments, Jeremy L. Fairweather of Lexington was indicted on two counts of theft of property and two counts of arson.
According to court records, Ragland and Fairweather are accused of setting fire to a hay barn belonging to Alvis Montgomery in September.
Ragland and Fairweather are also suspected in the burning of a home under construction by David Wilburn back in March, and allegedly stole more than $10,000 worth of building materials and construction tools from the home site in Bath Springs.
In addition, Ragland is accused in the thefts of a three travel trailers and a golf cart. Fairweather is believed to have stolen an Arctic Cat 4-wheeler from C & H Farm Supply in Parsons back in July.
The Grand Jury returned 18 indictments against 14 additional defendants, most of whom face drug-related charges. Several of the drug charges stem from a drug sweep back in November, while some of the charges originate from incidents which date back as far as 2007.
Bradley Wayne Britt is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver stemming from a June 12 incident involving .5 grams of methamphetamines.
Danny Thomas Tinin is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver after being found with .5 grams of methamphetamine on November 9.
James W. Lancaster was also indicted on one charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia for allegedly being in possession of .5 grams of meth on September 30.
Tyuan Lannell Snowden is accused of selling 28.3 grams of marijuana in December and was indicted on charges of Selling a Controlled Substance.
Zackery Whorton is charged with Selling a Controlled Substance for allegedly selling 25 pills identified as alprazolam back in January of 2009.
Steven Rowland Thompson is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell after being found with 32 morphine pills on August 4.
Clyde Burton Kelly is accused of Selling a Controlled Substance identified as .3 grams of methamphetamine in December of 2008.
Elizabeth Jones was indicted on a charge of Criminal Responsibility for Facilitation of a Felony. According to the indictment, Jones “did knowingly furnish substantial assistance” to a “Jane Doe” in the commission of the felony offense of sale of controlled substance on November 19, 2008.
Jackie Marie Hill is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, stemming from an August 2008 incident involving 32 morphine pills.
Shannon Lee Forrest is accused of being in Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell 29 hydrocodone pills in February of 2008.
Terrance T. Bolden is charged with Selling a Controlled Substance. The indictment stems from the sale of 1.8 grams of rock cocaine on October 13, 2007.
Steven Wayne Durham and Paul Andrew Hannon were indicted on charges of Driving Under the Influence stemming from a July 7 incident. Durham is said to have allowed Hannon to drive his 2006 Chevrolet Impala while Hannon was under the influence. Hannon is also charged with Violation of the Implied Consent Law.
Adalberto DeLacruz Forunick was indicted on theft of property and vandalism charges after allegedly tampering with a fuel pump and stealing hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel at the Shell Gas Station near Interstate 40 on December 6.
Finally, Bennie Devone, Jr. was charged with Violation of the Sexual Offender Registry and Monitoring Act. Devone originally registered in 1998 as a sex offender from Perry County after being convicted of sexual battery, and is accused of failing to register with the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department.
