Thieves Strike in Decaturville
3/3/10
Sometime Friday night February 26, thieves jacked up a 1986 Chevrolet El Camino parked at 30 Industrial Drive, Decaturville, and stole the tires and rims off of it. The vehicle was parked in the Dixie Delights parking lot with a for sale sign in the windshield. The thieves left the El Camino setting on blocks after they had taken the wheels and tires off it. The tires were described as Grand Prix Performance GT with raised white lettering and the rims as six spoke cast aluminum with chrome center caps.
According to the vehicle’s owner, local businessman C. C. Courtney, a possible person of interest could be driving an older model light blue Ford pickup with a white toolbox. Courtney is offering a $200 reward for information regarding the theft and an additional $1,000 reward if the information leads to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information concerning this incident are urged to call C. C. Courtney at 852-4147 or Ricky Inman at the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department at 852-3703.
